Steve Owen describes this special night:
LISA DAE has to be the best kept musical secret in the Northwest. An extraordinary jazz vocalist who (like Nancy King) is a musician’s musician.
At the urging of one of my most trusted jazz friends, I made the trek to Bend to hear Lisa Dae for the first time last January…she was the featured artist on Joe Rohrbacher’s “Jazz at Joe’s” concert series. It was an extraordinary evening of music. Lisa is fearless in her approach to music making. With a three octave + range, there is not a song or style that is out of her wheelhouse. Since that time, all I’ve been able to think about was finding a way to introduce Lisa to Eugene and get her booked at the Jazz Station.
This is the perfect opportunity to present Lisa’s musical talents to you. The holiday season brings with it such beautiful songs. And, in jazz there is a rich tradition of artists placing their own personal stamp on these songs…from Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra to Diana Krall and Diane Reeves. Our evening of music will explore fanciful, soulful, and soaring interpretations of many holiday classics with a handful of our favorite jazz ballads and standards thrown in for good measure.
This is my holiday gift to Eugene! I hope you will join us
