Award-winning trumpeter and composer Tony Glausi formed a nine-piece instrumental funk band in early 2015. Their debut performance featured all Glausi originals inspired by 20th-century philosopher Herbert Marcuse and his book entitled 'One-Dimensional Man'. Continuing to draw upon philosophical influences, the band now plays music written by other members of the ensemble, too, exploring the traditions of funk and hip-hop through a contemporary jazz lens.
