An Oregon native, Tony Glausi is a jazz trumpeter, keyboardist, and composer living in Eugene, Oregon. He is currently finishing a bachelor’s degree in jazz studies at the University of Oregon, studying privately with Brian McWhorter and Steve Owen. In the Fall of 2015 Tony will enroll at the UO as a graduate student of jazz composition with a teaching fellowship. In addition to leading his own jazz quintet and funk nonet, both of which play entirely original music, Tony performs and records with regional heavyweights and local ensembles including Red Pants Trio and the Eugene Composer’s Big Band. As well, Tony performs actively with several university ensembles, namely the award-winning Oregon Jazz Ensemble, which toured Europe in 2014, and the top jazz combo, Point of Departure. In June of 2013, Downbeat Magazine recognized Tony as an outstanding college undergraduate performer, part of the 36th annual student music awards.

Tony Glausi returns to the Jazz Station with his quintet featuring: Josh Hettwer - Sx., Sean Peterson - Bs., Adam Carlson - Dr. and Torrey Newhart - Pno.
