Kurt Rosenwinkel is one of the most influential contemporary jazz guitarists and has played frequently with other jazz heavy-weights like Joshua Redman, Chris Potter, Brad Mehldau, Mark Turner, Aaron Parks, Gary Burton, Paul Motian, and many others. Although he has been steeped in the rich traditions of jazz – especially when working with the likes of Thelonious Monk, Coleman Hawkins, and Bill Evans – Rosenwinkel's sound is on the cutting edge of contemporary jazz, evolving the language in a way no other guitarist has since Rosenwinkel's arrival. His innovations are captured both in his abundant recordings and prolific composing. We hope to celebrate his creativity with this special show!
