Jessika Smith Portland CD Release: Tricks Of Light

  • Jimmy Mak's 221 Northwest 10th Avenue Portland, OR, 97209 United States (map)

$10 tickets
Band leader and composer, Jessika Smith, is an educator and saxophonist residing in Eugene, Oregon. In March 2015 she recorded her debut album, Tricks of Light. The album is primarily new works for large jazz ensemble, with the exception of one original jazz arrangement and one original work for jazz quintet. The project is a culmination of her compositions since she moved from Spokane, WA to Eugene, Oregon in 2012 to study jazz arranging and composition at the University of Oregon.

The talented musicians who played on the album include friends from the University of Oregon, professionals from Eugene, and her mentors and teachers from Spokane, Washington and surrounding areas.

Tricks of Light will be officially released by PJCE records on December 18, 2015. In celebration of the release, Jessika and the band will be playing 3 release concerts in Washington and Oregon.
